TOAM '13 was initiated when a colleague, Natty D, the CEO of Flappy Tunez brought up the Idea of making beats for O'brins in order to psyche him up to pursue his long time passion and ambition which he has grown right from his secondary school days. Natty D, produced 3 out of 10 songs he has on TOAM '13 which includes "Rising Star" "Tonight" and "Dem gurlz" where they both had vocals on Except "Tonight" where O'brins solely recorded. Natty D initiated "Rising Star" "Holla my name" and "Dem gurlz" for O'brins to make sure he fulfills his own part of the Tape as he earlier promised but the rapper later felt he would not have to include "Holla my name" to the tape. Natty D, who is an homeboy to O'brins also served the nation together with O'brins at Abeokuta the capital city of Ogun state. They both worked together in their respective apartments just to ensure the success of TOAM '13. Natty D, the hit song "Shaye" singer who has earlier released a single "Your Man ft Slim Iffy" is already putting in work to see his Singles Album "Undisputed" through. I think "Undisputed" is going to be released next year as heard from a reliable source.
The bunch of talent produced the remaining 7 songs on the tape to let the world know he is an hiphop artiste and a producer as well which includes "The Arrival" (the intro to the mixtape), "I'm So Fly" (both tested Version and Remix), "Back To Back" ( New Gangswag style), "Say what (No fake love)" (additional vocal by Ronks, his kid sister), "Outstanding" (which is the most energetic track on the tape as he said), "Be Right There" (a love song for somebody he used to "mmm") and "Song for Momma" (a momma's song. you know what I mean *smiles*).
At his leisure, he wrote all the songs on the mixtape together with the songs that were later removed from the tape. Hopefully, they might be on the next mixtape, who knows? 'Lanre "Jiggy" Ojerinde who is the Logistics Manager of OCE also co-wrote "Back to Back" on the tape to show the Obafemi Awolowo University graduate's ability as a writer as well.
O'brins sampled many songs (both foreign and local) while trying to produce and write the mixtape such as "Let me love you by Mario", "Superstar by Lupe Fiasco", "Hustler's Ambition by 50cent", "More than a friend by P-square" "Stupid love by Olamide" "I'm so fly by Lloyd banks" "No regrets ft Sauce kid by Ikechukwu" "I like to party by Burna boy" "Hey mama by Kanye West" "Blowing money fast by Rick Ross" "Nobody test me by Jesse Jags" and "Terisi by Bodmas (Who is also a Friend, Colleague and Mentor to him. Hoping to release "The unMixedTape" sometimes next year after releasing "Life", "Large on the streets" few months ago and "My Nigerian Girl" which is set to be released on December 12, 2013)" just to mention a few.
The Mechanical Engeering graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology known as Ofolian Brinzy and Ofolian Brins from his tender age, later coined to O'brinzy and O'brins respectively as his stage names started recording TOAM'13 on March 9, 2013 when he recorded "I'm so fly" (Testing version) at a friend's Studio in Ibadan and ended TOAM '13 recording with "The Arrival" which is the intro and the first track on the Mixtape on October 31, 2013. "Back to Back" and "Say what (No fake love)" were recorded respectively on the same day, "Outstanding" and "Dem gurlz ft Natty D" were recorded respectively on the same day and "Song for momma" and "The Arrival" were also recorded respectively on the same day.
After recording the mixtape, he wanted the whole world to listen to all the tracks on the mixtape so The OCE crew decided to make a few Hardcopies (CDs) to enable fans enjoy the tape while in their cars, on the sound sytem and portable devices and Softcopies (MP3) were made available in order to make the songs available to both audience near by and long distance together with fans in the USA, UAE, Australia, South Africa, Cyprus, United Kingdom, Canada and so on.
