CLAY... THE NEXT BIG THING OR WHAT ?
She's different, she's unique , her voice takes you to places and height you've never been .... her name is Clay. . Clay whose real name is Bianca Adanna okorocha is a 21 year old Nigerian born singer songwriter, video director, actress, and guitarist. She was born in Lagos, and studying Biz Admin at LASU. By the age of 8, she was already part of her local church choir. By 15, she had gone on tours with 2face, Dr Solek, Ruggedman as a dancer. She also starred as the lead girl in d video of ‘’Onyinye’’ by Obiwon.
Bianca Adanna Okorocha, professionally known as “Clay”, has been making waves in a not-so-traditional way on a tradition-typical music scene. Born in Nigeria, the multi-talented (singer-songwriter/guitarist/dancer) Igbo lady is definitely sporting a style all of her own. There are various artists who are climbing the staircase to stardom; yet, not all will climb at the same pace or with the same intensity. But after recently viewing Clay’s video “Dancing in the Sun”, I was automatically moved and quite impressed by her creative and truly unique style. My immediate thought was, “This girl is going to be huge!” Her rock star image, a total contrast to the everyday Nigerian female music artists’, definitely sets her apart.
Her desire to be different, her dare to dream, and her courage to raise the bar on the Nigerian music world, deserves much commendation and attention.She has that kinda of voice that reminds you of some of the greats but you just cant put a finger on who precisely because she has carved out a unique style and originality for herself.
Growing up, Clay listened to bands like Matchbox20, Creed, Avril lavigne, Dido, Onyeka onwenu, and her influences include Dido, Cranberries, Rhianna
I recently came across two of her newest singles LEYMANYA and ZOPUTAN both produced by her ever constant producer Coldflames and i have been simply PUT blown away, can't stop listening to the tracks considering I've never been a rock fan at any point in my life, BUT SOMETHING ABOUT THIS LADIES VOICE HAS ME GLUED and i cant explain.
Her debut single was ''Nenum'' produced by super producer Coldflames who discovered and had faith in her music and since then she has gone to record songs like Anwuli,'' Dancing in the sun'' which already has a video out and covers like Asa's (jailer). This is 2013 and i peronally am expecting big things from this talented lady.
On like the kinda music we nigerians are used to, this lady offer something new exciting n different so it left to see if she can win over more fans over to the kinda music she has to offer, is it impossible? dont believe so ASA did it some feew years back so i guess is her time to prove her stuff..
