THE TRIBUTE. CELEBRATING DAGRIN

Yesterday was 5th year aniversary Celebrating the life and legacy of DAGRIN in death. So many people from different parts of life came out and paid tribute to him in their own way. Artist he had worked with in his life time and those who got inspired by his work had enough to say and one thing they all said in common was that the late DAGRIN was a plain and down to earth person who gave it to you straight. Then they spoke on the genius of his music, they way he brought his experience and happenings in his daily life to create something soulful, beautiful and indigineous for everybody to relate with and enjoy no matter your station and position in the society. DAGRIN'S lyrics was not just word play it was the TRUTH and that made him stand out. He didn't just talk about the streets,he lived, breath in fact he was THE STREETS and we loved him for that and the way he took indigenous rap to another level. I'v still got love for M.I's first album but qouting OREZI who said "there hasn't being any other rap album accepted the way DAGRIN's CEO Album was received in this country". In the short time he spent with us he touched and inspired lives and gave hope to people on the streets, we enjoyed him in life and even in death he still dey rock like "Omo naija mo le fi eyin shi pepsi" So no matter where you dey we just wanna let you know "Oshii lenu bi Pon Pon Pon Pon"
