In response to the indefinite strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) and their university counter part, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Hundreds of students of various higher institutions have taken to the streets of Lagos in a protest over the Lingering strike. Eyewitness report confirms that the placard carrying students barricaded the busy Ikorodu Road around the Onipanu area bemoaning their fate as they have been compelled to sit at home once a again.
According to the eyewitness, the protest has brought about traffic build-up in the ever busy high way. Some of the students are seen dancing and playing football in the middle of the highway.
Meanwhile the striking lecturers are adamant to return back to the classrooms until their request is met by the Federal Government.
